As a night shift General Operative at ENVA, based in Toomebridge, you will play a key role in the recycling and processing of Fridges and Large Domestic Appliances. You will be responsible for handling, sorting, dismantling, and preparing electronic waste for further recycling or disposal, adhering to safety and environmental regulations. This position contributes to ENVA's sustainability efforts by promoting efficient waste management and recycling practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sorting materials such as refrigerators, washing machines, tumble dryers and other electronic devices to ensure they are directed to the correct recycling streams.
  • Safely dismantle electronic equipment, removing components like compressors, motors and copper for proper recycling.
  • Operate shredding machinery, ensuring proper and efficient operation to maximize recycling output.
  • Inspect and assess incoming Fridge Plant materials to ensure compliance with recycling standards and company requirements.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets, supporting overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment, ensuring work areas are free of hazards.

  • Previous experience in a recycling or waste management environment.

  • Ability to operate machinery or willingness to be trained.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting and moving equipment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Job Requirements

  • Full-time role based in Toomebridge.
  • 46 hours per week (Night Shift).
  • £12.79 per hour plus shift allowance.
  • Work environment is predominantly in a warehouse or processing facility.
  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn.
