Technical Manager
Our client is an established and expanding manufacturer of specialty chemical products, supplying innovative solutions to customers across a range of industrial sectors worldwide.
As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced
Technical Manage r to lead their technical function and contribute to the next phase of their development.
Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the senior leadership team, this is a varied and influential position offering the opportunity to drive innovation, lead technical excellence, and play a key role in the company's long-term success .
Your key responsibilities will include
- Leading the company's technical strategy and product development roadmap.
- Overseeing new product formulation and continuous product improvement.
- Managing quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Providing technical support to customers, commercial teams, and manufacturing.
- Working closely with suppliers to support product innovation and changing regulatory requirements.
- Leading customer investigations and technical issue resolution.
- Driving process improvements and supporting manufacturing optimisation.
- Developing, mentoring, and leading a small multidisciplinary technical team.
- Collaborating with international colleagues and customers to deliver innovative technical solutions.
About You
To be successful, you will bring a strong combination of scientific expertise, leadership experience, and commercial awareness.
Ideally, you will have
- A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (MSc or Ph D advantageous).
- At least 10 years' experience within specialty chemical manufacturing or formulation.
- Previous experience leading technical, laboratory, or quality teams.
- Strong expertise in formulation development, technical leadership, and product innovation.
- Experience managing quality systems and regulatory compliance within the chemical industry.
- Knowledge of UK, EU, and international chemical regulations.
- Experience working with customers and suppliers to deliver technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
