Our SE based client is currently looking to recruit a Principal Analytical Chemist to perform complex method development and validation using LC-MS / HPLC on a variety of synthesised chemicals and API molecules. This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys developing novel methods from first principles in a busy commercial manufacturing environment.
Additional duties for this role will include:
- Leading a small team of Analytical Chemists, assisting with ongoing project work when required.
- Instrument and method trouble-shooting, solving problems to enable analyses to be completed.
- Working with Synthetic / Process Chemists to understand synthesised chemicals to ultimately ensure the successful analysis of a range of molecules.
- Leading on a number of analytical projects, understanding GMP requirements and defining scope of analytical projects and milestones.
- Understanding / performing analyses with a range of other chromatography, spectroscopy and techniques (including NMR, ICP and others).
- Completing detailed GMP documentation and reports, ensuring analytical success.
- Understanding new approaches in analytical methodologies and techniques and implementing method improvements.
- Training and mentoring others, leading by example on complex problem-solving challenges.
Applications are invited from candidates with a BSc, MSc, PhD in Analytical Chemistry (or similar) together with proven demonstrable hands-on skills performing complex GMP method development and validation using chromatography systems in an API / synthesis environment.
This is a permanent role offering an attractive salary depending on skills and experience.
