Our Edinburgh based client is actively looking for an Analytical Biochemist to provide analytical support on a range of ongoing protein and biotechnology based projects.

Duties for this position will include:

  • Performing hands on analyses with LC-MS, HPLC and GC-MS, working with a variety of protein and biological sample matrices
  • Developing and validating analytical workflows
  • Maintaining / calibrating instrumentation, including chromatography and MS systems
  • Developing, optimising biochemical assays using Western Blot, SDS-PAGE and enzymatic assays
  • Ensuring the validity of all data generated from detailed QC data assessments

Applications are invited from candidates with a BSc / MSc / PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry with proven demonstrable industrial skills of developing robust methods of analysis using LC-MS, HPLC, GC-MS. Experience with molecular biology techniques would be advantageous.

This is a permanent position offering an attractive salary depending on skills and experience.
