An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Microbiologist III to join a well‑established Medical Device Company in Livingston. The Senior Microbiologist III will be responsible for all microbiology related activities across the site.
Key Aspects Of The Role:
- Provide independent in‑house and on‑site expertise in Microbiology
- Perform QC Microbiology testing
- Optimise current systems, databases, logs and support the generation of Microbiology trend data
- Ensure current methods/equipment are aligned with pharmacopoeia standard
- Support site contamination control improvement programme as well as compliance to regulatory standards such as ISO 11737, 11408 and 17025
- Support in the development of the Microbiology staff.
Applicant Requirements:
- Educated to BSc/MSc level or equivalent in Microbiology or a closely related discipline
- A minimum of 5+ years in an equivalent position
- Extensive knowledge of Microbiology with experience of environmental monitoring and sterility testing
- A demonstrated ability to engage and motivate others to support a quality culture
- Experience of EU and cGMP requirements of the manufacture and testing of medical device products in a commercial environment
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems
- Previous experience of hosting regulatory auditors
- Strong data analysis/data manipulation skills
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.

- Experience of FDA requirements of the manufacture and testing of medical device products in a commercial environment
