Join entrustIT and help deliver exciting technology projects. We are looking for an experienced CCTV and Door Access Control engineer to join our growing team in Bedford and play a key role in supporting the delivery of a range of building security projects.

At entrust IT, we deliver innovative structured cabling, WiFi, CCTV and access control systems. Our Projects team manages a wide range of installations and upgrades, and we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys keeping projects running smoothly.

The Role

As a CCTV and Access Control Engineer, you will support our clients with the installation and ongoing maintenance of their building security systems on time and within budget. You will play an essential role in ensuring our installations are skilfully delivered, clearly communicated, and of good quality so that our clients are delighted by the results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of IP-based CCTV and Door Access Control (DAC) systems for clients in various sectors including commercial and education.
  • Providing services in an effective and efficient manner; and within established time limits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in CCTV / DAC installations.
  • Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to think laterally - finding an appropriate solution to fulfil an application.
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • The ability to work to the highest quality standards (NSI compliance for example).
  • Attentive to detail at all times.
  • The ability to comply with safety rules and regulations of site working.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal at all levels.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Full/Clean UK Driving Licence - essential.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure - essential.
  • ECS/CSCS Card or equivalent - desirable.
  • NVQ or equivalent in Security Installations - desirable.

Dimensions of the role:

  • Install a variety of security solutions to NSI compliance.
  • Fault finding, testing and commissioning.
  • Containment installation including trunking, conduit, tray and basket work.
  • Liaising with Project Managers to ensure successful completion of works.
  • Professional and effective communication with management, colleagues and customers.
  • Working in various environments (internal/external/working at heights).
  • Planned preventative maintenance work for clients.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including job packs and delivery notes and maintaining accurate records of the onsite installation.
  • Ensure photographic evidence of install is taken and downloaded on completion of jobs.
