The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join the Finance team of a high growth business, at an exciting phase in its journey. In this role you will report directly to the Financial Controller and support all aspects of the accounting and reporting of two UK and seven foreign legal entities. You will be a key senior member of the team, be technically strong, driven and enthusiastic, have exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial and Management Reporting: Support the Financial Controller throughout month end and year end close by maintaining accurate, reconciled, accounting records, by providing analysis and reports to support the corporate reporting processes
Audit coordination: Lead international subsidiary audits and manage relationships with auditors and local advisors. Coordinate audit requests within finance and the wider company
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including supporting with tax fillings, VAT returns and statutory requirements, including the identification of non-compliances and propose recommendations to prevent re-occurrences.
Documentation: Maintain technical accounting memos and policies and keep the team up to date with new statutory updates.
Process improvement: Improve efficiency of current processes and implement any audit
recommendations.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting team members fostering a collaborative and development oriented environment.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP/FRS102
• Previous experience producing or auditing statutory accounts
• Previous audit experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Clear and effective communicator, verbal and written
• A keen interest in technical accounting topics
• Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to build great working relationships with all levels of the organisation
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and be proactive with solving problems
• Willing to take on new challenges
• Ability to look for efficiencies in all processes and drive change in a growing business
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends
Desirable:
• Experience in technology industry advantageous
• Proficiency in Accounting software Netsuite
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
