Position Overview:

Entrust is seeking a talented AI/regulatory attorney with strong interest and knowledge of artificial intelligence policy to join our global legal team. This role’s primary function is to help the business navigate the evolving legislative and regulatory landscape relevant to Entrust’s products and services (including AI) by providing legal guidance related to global regulatory frameworks, strategic guidance on product and service offerings, go-to-market strategy, and commercial support. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of technology transactions, AI, and a passion for assisting business teams with developing strategies and compliance processes around commercializing products and services for our customers. The candidate will also have experience working closely with technology providers and third-party data sources for AI-driven use cases and the ability to participate in executive engagements both internally and externally. The candidate must be a self-starter, clear communicator, and enjoy partnering with a diverse range of cross-functional teams on cutting-edge AI-powered digital identity solutions. You will join a growing team of lawyers working in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and dynamic environment. The specific areas of focus and responsibilities will change based on company priorities, new legal issues, and the regulatory and competitive ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary subject matter expert on regulatory matters, including AI, related to Entrust’s product offerings, go-to-market strategy, and commercial transactions. This role includes identifying, analyzing, and monitoring advancements in AI and other emerging regulations on a global scale, conducting research to identify potential legal risks, and contributing to discussions on data strategy and regulatory matters.
  2. Provide legal advice and day-to-day support on the foregoing to the legal team and greater organization and draft policies, processes, and contractual clauses around AI and other emerging regulatory issues to appropriately mitigate risk.
  3. Responsible for AI governance in partnership with business stakeholders; educate internal stakeholders on the legal landscape of AI, potential risks and opportunities, and best practices for responsible AI development and implementation.
  4. Actively participate on local leadership team as well as global, cross-functional teams.
  5. Serve as a site leader for legal in the London office, bringing a positive “can do” attitude, building strong relationships with internal teams at all levels inside and outside the legal team, and coordinating resources to work through priorities.
  6. Manage a large volume and variety of transactions, be highly responsive, and independently prioritize and manage projects effectively.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  1. LLB (or its equivalent) from an accredited law school; a Masters of Laws would be a benefit; and authorized and licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (including the jurisdiction from which you are working).
  2. Must be able to lawfully work within the jurisdiction in which you reside and have unrestricted work authorization for such country and to be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
  3. At least 10 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or legal department of a company (ideally with at least 3 years supporting an in-house corporate environment).
  4. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is a must; additional languages will be considered a major advantage (in particular French, Spanish, Dutch, German).

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. The ideal candidate will have superior communication, leadership, and organizational skills; as well as process orientation and strategic thinking.
  2. Global regulatory expertise.
  3. Experience supporting commercial and technology legal teams in drafting and negotiating agreements; for example, supporting negotiations by providing guidance on and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  4. Prior management experience and representation on a business unit leadership team.
  5. Proven history of strategic engagement and building regulatory frameworks and related processes.
