Hardware Engineering opportunities have arisen in our dynamic and collaborative team because of sustaining activities on existing products and demand for new products. The team is situated in our fantastic, well-located Cambridge office. We are looking for a senior engineer who can take responsibility for sections of the hardware design with a strong focus on quality, reliability and security to meet the exacting needs of our customers and security certification requirements.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of working on demanding projects and delivering high quality designs which form a part of complex systems. A demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders from customers, product managers to software teams is essential. Hardware Engineering at Entrust comprises Electronic Engineering, Digital Design, Mechanical and Thermal Engineering - the full scope of the physical product platform.Responsibilities: develop high quality Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) carry out hardware design, prototyping, integration and validationensure on-going manufacturability, testability and reliability of existing hardware designsmaintain detailed design documentation, test reports, and bills of materials work within an Agile product development framework develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleaguesplan work collaboratively with the whole Engineering teamprovide support and direction to less experienced team membersdrive continuous improvement and self-developmentQualifications: We are looking for candidates who possess:a solid understanding of the fundamentals of digital & analogue electronics in product designthe ability to analyse complex technical problems and offer innovative, reasoned and practical solutions to demanding requirementsThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following technologies:electronic design of embedded systemsdevelopment with 32- or 64-bit processors, high speed interfaces & memory devicesimplementing designs with FPGAs & SoCs microcontroller development and efficient low power design techniquesboard bring-up and verification of inter device interfaces (e.g. signal integrity analysis)design for EMC, safety and regulatory standardsECAD systems - ideally Altiumdesign of security productsThe following skills would also be helpful in the role: C or Rust development for microcontrollersU-boot and Linux platform configuration and buildsVHDL / VerilogBasic Qualifications: Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.Electronic Engineering.#Career Growth: Whether you’re a budding developer or a seasoned expert, we’re invested in your professional journey.
