Key Responsibilities
- Transfer of raw materials and components from the warehouse to the relevant production area, ensuring they are stored in designated areas and a computer transaction is done for every physical movement.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and report any discrepancies or shortages to supervisors.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery to load and unload materials from trucks and move them to and from storage areas and production lines.
- Inspect materials for damages and ensure that all items are in good condition before they are stored or dispatched.
- Work unsupervised in both production and stores areas.
- Be a team player with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimise accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Certifications: Forklift (essential), Flexi Truck & Tow Tug (ideal).
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper handling of materials.
- Proficiency in basic math for inventory tracking and documentation.
- Computer & SAP skills preferred.
Work Environment
Material Handlers typically work in warehouse or factory settings, which can be noisy and require standing for long periods. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
Hours: Friday to Sunday 07:00am - 19:00
