About Entrepreneurs First

Entrepreneurs First invests in exceptional individuals to build startups from scratch. We exist to amplify ambition, alter career trajectories, and shape the future. We find exceptional talent, to form exceptional teams, to build exceptional companies. We’ve backed thousands of founders at the earliest stage, creating >$11B in value.

The Role

As the leading talent investor, EF is a people-focused business. Our 110-strong team and network of partners are dedicated to maximising the success of our founders, our community, and the startup ecosystems we operate in. This role is the first point of contact for the People team, joining a small but thriving team at the core of EF. Our size means you'll have contact with our entire global team, including leadership, and our culture embraces ownership at every level.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure operational excellence across the People lifecycle: Manage the People Ops process and workflow for onboarding and offboarding EF employees across our four sites, this includes creating employment contracts and other employment related letters/documents.
  • Be the owner of People data, ensuring it is updated and managed accurately via our People systems, most importantly HiBob.
  • Be the first point of contact for the organisation for any questions or support required related to the employee lifecycle or benefits.
  • Liaise with our finance team and external vendors to coordinate the monthly payroll process.
  • Reduce low leverage activities for the team through automations and tooling.
  • Continue our quest for increased automation by building tooling and exploring opportunities for process improvement.
  • Build dashboards that surface important People data in real-time.
  • Continuously improve the People experience at EF: Manage and implement the employee benefits packages across our sites.
  • Identify and execute improvements for how the wider company interacts with People tools and processes through automations and a product-focussed mindset.
  • Be part of the Operations teams that lead the annual Global Summit.

Who This Role Is Not For

  • You want a structured 9-5pm job with high oversight and clear responsibilities - EF is fast-paced and we have a small team.
  • You want a slow ramp up and time to find your feet before being given responsibility.
  • You don’t want to be employee facing - EF is a talent investor. Our People are our product.

Who You Are

  • Operations experience: Ideally 1 year in an operational, customer-facing role (e.g. People, Customer Experience, Program Management).
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in tools like Claude, Slack and Google workspace (HiBob is a bonus), with experience in creating automations.
  • People centric: Driven by building relationships and understanding how people work, in order to support them better.
  • Strategic & Tactical Balance: Proven ability to think long-term while excelling in day-to-day execution.
  • High regard for detail: Meticulous in record-keeping and tracking metrics.
  • Team player: Exceptional verbal and written skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • You take ownership of your work and growth: You thrive under high-trust, low-touch management.

What We Offer

  • Ownership: The chance to shape and grow this role based on your ideas.
  • Meritocracy: People at EF progress based on ambition and success rather than length of tenure.
  • Vibrant Workspace: A buzzing East London office filled with ambitious minds working on frontier technologies.
  • Competitive Benefits: Attractive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Generous vacation allowance, including a two-week global office closure over the Christmas holidays.
  • A Learning & Development allowance to purchase any product or service that will contribute to your personal or professional development.
  • Enhanced parental leave, plus broader leave policies.

The interview process

We’re aiming for the hire to be in the role by mid-October. Initial call with Sarah Brooks, Head of People (30 mins). Task round, which you’ll be set to complete in your own time by a deadline. Debrief on the task and second stage interview with Sarah (45 mins). Final interview at our Hoxton office to meet cross-functional stakeholders. (60 mins)
