THE ROLE
A key member of our Global Finance function, the Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting EF as it scales and evolves. This role will suit someone with a growth mindset who is excited by learning as part of a dynamic team aiming for best-in-class operational effectiveness. You’ll be based in London working closely with our Finance Manager and Head of Finance. This role will have the opportunity to drive core work forwards and to be strategic in planning and strengthening internal finance processes and group decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Own key aspects of the month end process, involving accurate recognition of costs, posting of journals and preparation of monthly management reports for leaders within the business.
- Work on complex ad hoc projects which impact the Group’s global operations.
- Partner with the rest of the business to educate and empower them to drive EF forward efficiently and effectively.
- Manage external service providers across payroll, fund administration and other professional services.
- Ensure the financial and tax compliance of the Group’s overseas subsidiary entities as well as managing the accounting and reconciliation of local books to Group.
- Document and implement improvements to internal processes which drive the efficiency of the department and wider team.
- Responsible for the balance sheet across multiple entities including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers and perform monthly payroll payments and reconciliations for various jurisdictions.
- Support and ensure compliance with all finance and tax filing requirements, as well as audits of multiple entities and other statutory requirements.
This role will require you to be based in London. Our team adopts a combination of working from office and home. The London office is based in Hoxton.
Requirements
- Newly ACA/CA qualified. Preferably trained at a global accounting firm.
- Highly motivated, driven by a strong sense of ownership and desire for accountability.
- Ability to manage and work with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) across multiple different jurisdictions and timezones.
- Technically sound in handling complex accounting treatments within Group entities.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of process improvements and implementation of internal controls.
- Proficiency in integrated financial management software, such as NetSuite would be advantageous.
- A shared belief that startups can shape the future, bringing positive impact across communities.
