What you'll do
- Daily husbandry: substrate, climate, harvest, batch records.
- Co-author and improve protocols with the research team.
- Train new operators and visiting partners on the floor.
- Flag yield anomalies early; tighten the feedback loop with Platform.
What we look for
- Hands‑on experience rearing insects or comparable livestock at scale.
- Comfort with data: you log it, look at it, act on the slope.
- A bias to write down what you learn so the next operator inherits it.
- Willingness to be in Kirkby‑in‑Ashfield most days.
Build the private‑beta workspace real operators test with us. Batch tracking, climate logging, yield forecasts, compliance exports. Small team, big surface area.
What you'll do

- Spend time on the floor so the software fits how facilities actually work.
- Own the operational quality of what you ship (alerts, logs, on‑call rota).
- Help shape the data and ML work behind anomaly detection and forecasting.
What we look for
- Production experience building useful software for real operators.
- Care for the boring parts: schema, observability, slow paths.
- Comfort working closely with non-engineer users in their environment.
- EU / UK working hours; occasional travel to the facility.
