Join our dynamic B2B sales team as a Business Development Executive, where you’ll help drive lead generation and support the delivery of sponsorship and media campaign contracts across our events and media divisions. Reporting directly to the SVP of Business Development, you’ll play a key role in building our sales pipeline, supporting client relationships, and gaining first-hand exposure to the world of games industry events and media sales. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ambitious, curious, and ready to grow into a revenue‑carrying Business Development Manager role.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Support & Development
- Shadow the SVP and support the Executive Assistant on lead‑gen projects during Year 1, including assisting in drafting proposals and coordinating B2B sales collateral and meeting action points.
- Move towards handling some client conversations and sponsorship/media sales.
- Work towards an individual lead generation target during Year 1.
Lead Generation & Research
- Build and update targeted lead lists using online tools, trade reports, and our internal CRM.
- Review past ticket/sponsorship data to identify gaps and create new target lists.
- Research competitor events, sponsors, and advertising trends to produce concise updates and share findings and insights at regular sales meetings.
- Work internally with our Editorial team to gauge current trends and potential leads.
Events & Travel
- Attend international games industry events to generate new client leads, qualifying and preparing them for handover to senior sales staff on return.
- Provide on‑site sales support and client assistance at events when required.
- Coordinate some travel planning and administration tasks for the sales team (e.g., travel costing, bookings, and maintaining the events calendar).
Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Support communication between sales, marketing, and content teams.
- Flag opportunities for media partnerships and campaign tie‑ins.
- Coordinate sales‑driven social pushes with marketing.
General Support
- Maintain shared folders of client meeting notes and post‑event sponsor reports.
- Provide out‑of‑office support for your line manager and the wider B2B sales team when required.
Sales & Performance Roadmap
Phase 1 (0–12 Months: Training & Shadowing)
- Shadow the SVP of Business Development in client calls and meetings and generate action points and follow‑ups.
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant on structured lead generation projects.
- Build qualified prospect lists, assist with proposals, and learn CRM processes.
- Travel to industry events to network with prospective leads.
Phase 2 (12‑18 Months+: Sales Development)
- Take ownership of smaller sponsorship and media sales opportunities.
- Engage directly with prospects and develop confidence in handling calls, pitches, and proposals.
- Contribute to larger team deals while managing your own pipeline.
Beyond 12‑18 Months: Progression
- Step up into Business Development Manager, with responsibility for your own client list and fixed annual revenue targets.
- Earn uncapped commission on all sales performance.
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year of B2B client‑facing experience (sales, marketing, or related) or demonstrable customer‑facing role.
- A willingness to travel internationally at least once a month.
- Excellent written and spoken English (native/professional level).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Genuine interest in the video games industry.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in events, sponsorship, or media sales.
- Additional languages helpful (e.g. Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Spanish).
- Business or Marketing degree (or equivalent).
Working Style & Travel
- Full‑time remote role (core hours aligned with UK/Europe).
- Must be based in the UK or Europe, within easy reach of a major international airport.
- Reliable internet connection required (equipment provided for UK based staff).
- International travel expected (approx. 25% of working time, typically once per month).
Package
- Base salary: up to ÂŁ30,000
- Year 1: bonus scheme (for successful lead generation and sales contribution).
- 6‑12 month probation period.
- Part‑time (4 days/week) may be considered for exceptional candidates.
- Note: for candidates based outside the UK, we can only offer roles on a self‑employed contractor basis.
