We are a long-standing family run business who are an industry leader in providing Security, Fire, Reception and Data System solutions to high rise, new builds and occupied residential sites across London and the Southeast.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Commissioning Engineer to be the bridge between installation and client use. You will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and handover of electronic security systems across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This is ideal for someone who enjoys being busy and can keep all the plates spinning, able to reprioritise with excellent organisational skills.

Role Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Commission and configure door entry systems, access control systems, and associated security solutions.
  • Perform system testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Ensure all systems are installed and commissioned in line with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Work closely with installation teams, project managers, and clients during project delivery.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support where required.
  • Deliver system training and handover documentation to clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities and system configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times.
  • Adhoc duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • 5+ years practical experience.
  • Experience with CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and structured cabling.
  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer or similar role in the security systems industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with door entry systems (audio/video intercoms) and door access control systems (keypads, fobs, biometric systems).
  • Knowledge of system integration, including networking (IP-based systems).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with leading access control and door entry manufacturers (e.g., Urmet, Paxton, Hikvision, BPT, Videx, Comelit).
  • Understanding of wiring standards and electrical principles.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proficient user of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail orientated approach.
