As a Technical Project Manager you will oversee the full lifecycle of Town Hall technical event projects. You will act as the main link between clients, internal teams, and freelance crews. You will ensure every event is delivered safely, smoothly, and to the highest standard while maintaining a strong client experience throughout.
Responsibilities
- Build strong client relationships through regular communication and venue visits.
- Translate client briefs into technical specs, proposals, and quotes.
- Oversee pre-production including crew scheduling, sub hires, transport, and H and S documentation.
- Provide hands-on support during setup, live operation, and strike.
- Supervise freelance crews and ensure technical delivery meets client expectations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Technical, and BD teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and support invoicing.
- Review technical plans, equipment lists, and proposals for accuracy.
- Participate in venue walk-throughs and assess risks or opportunities.
- Support events outside standard business hours when required.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support post-event debriefs and knowledge sharing to improve future deliveries.
Qualifications
- Proven live events or venue experience (this is a must).
- Hands-on live events experience or venue-based technical event experience.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and workflows.
- Strong understanding of AV equipment and its applications.
- Confident client management and communication skills.
- Time management and attention to detail.
- Accuracy and customer service orientation.
- Problem solving and proactive issue resolution.
- Occasional lifting under and over 25 lbs; repetitive hand and wrist movement; use of simple hand tools; overhead safety considerations.
