Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Finance – Financial Control is accountable for driving financial excellence with sustainable foundations. As a member of the Heathrow Senior Leadership Team, they oversee external reporting and financial and tax compliance to external stakeholders.
Your role will involve:
- Delegated accountability from the CFO for the four finance core processes and for setting finance frameworks and policies with robust processes and controls.
- Setting the strategic direction for external Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury Control activities for Heathrow.
- Ensuring Heathrow’s accounting policies are in line with IFRS and other relevant Financial Reporting standards and requirements.
- Leading the team in preparing, attending and presenting all financial matters to the Audit Committee to ensure good governance over key accounting judgements, estimates and relevant issues.
- Accountability for managing the corporate entity structure and distributable reserves to meet shareholder requirements for the payment of dividends.
These Skills Are Essential:
- Qualified accountant (FCA, FCCA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience of operating at a strategic level in a FTSE 250 or equivalent sized private company as a Financial Controller.
- Experience in setting the strategic direction for external Financial Reporting, Tax or Treasury Control.
- Able to evidence strong influencing with the ability to make complex accounting and tax issues easily understood at Director, Executive and Board level.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrable track record of leading high‑performance teams toward the successful attainment of challenging goals.
- Technical accounting/tax expertise with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
