Overview

Our Brighton Churchill Square store will be operating night shifts going into peak, and we’re looking for a team of brilliant Seasonal Night Stock Assistants, to undertake the responsibility for having the store ready to trade for the next busy day!

Why be a Night Stock Assistant?

Daniel and Trevor have worked nights for over 8years in their store, and here’s what they have to say:

Daniel – “In the 10 years I’ve worked with The Entertainer, this year will be my 8th in a row I have volunteered to work on nights. The point of the night shift is to get the shop full and ready for trading – its non-stop stock; delivery, remerchandising and filling up. You can spend time getting your sections looking exactly how you want them too, without any interruptions from customers or having to go and serve on the till or answer any bells… you can just put on some music and merchandise, just lose yourself in the work. What’s more, it’s 37.5 hours minimum each week, which pays more than normal rate when you add on the premium too! Just think of all the money you’ll have to spend on (yourself!) your friends and family when you’re finished!”

Trevor – “I have been working as a Night Stock Assistant now for 8 years with Daniel. Although it can be hard work, it is productive, very rewarding and there is never a dull moment. There is the sense of achievement knowing that at the end of every shift, the shop is full and ready for the day’s trade!”

As a Night Stock Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Accepting deliveries, working delivery stock onto shop floor and racking away overs
  • Replenishing sections from the stockroom and merchandising when needed
  • Pricing, tagging and price sweep compliance
  • Promotional set up and window displays
  • Keeping a clean and tidy working environment

Working on Nights, you will receive some extra benefits than usual, which include:

  • You will have Boxing day off even though we are open and trading
  • You will be onboarded on 20 hours a week until the night shift starts, at which point you will work a 37.5-hour contract guaranteed for the remainder of your contract
  • Nightshift premium pay (1.25 per hour for hours worked between 11pm and 6am)

Before you apply, please think about the following things:

  • You will need to commit to work the entire night shift duration which varies from 2 to 8 weeks depending on the store.
  • Your final night shift will end on the morning of Wednesday 24th December
  • Getting to and from the store safely, at any time, is up to you, and you will need to travel outside of work hours
  • If you have any other paid work or volunteering that could be affected, you may need to reconsider – you will need to make sure you are able to get plenty of rest in between shifts

So, are you:

  • Reliable and flexible in the hours you can work?
  • Fast paced and efficient, able to always keep a tidy and safe environment?
  • Physically fit and able to move stock around the store, both independently and as part of a team?
  • Trustworthy and responsible to achieve the tasks set, able to apply logic and communicate well if problems arise?

Then we need you! You could earn a great deal more than your normal weekly wage doing Nights, so what are you waiting for?
