Job Purpose
As a Lead Copywriter, you will be responsible for crafting compelling and on-brand copy that resonates with our audience and drives sales and/or engagement across multiple touchpoints. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering our campaigns, from writing campaign headlines to creating engaging long-form content and ensuring all written. Your work will be key in driving sales and brand awareness, enhancing customer engagement, and supporting both online and in-store experiences. Working in our busy marketing team you will be an experienced copywriter with excellent communication skills and a flair for storytelling, as well as being a highly proficient wordsmith. Your role will also need you to be confident and experienced in presenting and you will need to be proactive in your approach with a problem solving mindset. Your natural ability to influence and engage will also enable you to build strong stakeholder relationships.
Skills & Experience
A degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in copywriting for brand, content creation and SEO with at least 2 years in a lead or senior position, preferably within retail, eCommerce, or consumer-facing industries.
Responsibilities
- Brand Tone of Voice & Messaging: Develop a tone of voice for the brand which aligns with our brand strategy and produce guidelines to be used business-wide.
- Campaign Copywriting: Lead the creation of campaign-specific copy, including digital ads, emails, landing pages, social media posts, and in-store signage, that align with overarching campaign strategies.
- Long-Form Copywriting: Develop detailed and engaging long-form copy, such as blog posts, product descriptions, articles, buying guides, and other content that provides value to our customers and drives traffic to the website.
- SEO Copywriting: Write SEO-friendly copy optimised for search engines without sacrificing creativity or quality, helping drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
- Performance & Optimisation: Monitor content performance across various channels, working with team colleagues on using data to inform and refine future copywriting strategies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with designers, marketers, and campaign managers to create cohesive and effective marketing materials.
