We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our London Overseas Centre team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Director to drive the expansion of Singapore-based companies and start-ups into the UK, Nordics, and Western Europe. The role focuses on supporting Singapore enterprises in navigating market entry, forging strategic partnerships, and identifying growth opportunities across these regions.
The Business Development Manager will also play a key role in building innovation partnerships to strengthen Singapore’s ecosystem in selected sectors, including:
- Offshore Wind and Renewable Energy
- Precision Medicine and Healthtech
- Deep Tech areas such as Advanced Materials, Climate Tech, and Embodied AI
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Singapore-based companies in market entry and business development across the UK, Nordics, and Western Europe.
- Identify, engage, and build partnerships with corporates, government agencies, VCs, research institutions, and innovation hubs.
- Develop sectoral insights and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscapes, and partnership opportunities.
- Curate and execute engagement plans, including business missions, workshops, and networking platforms.
- Conduct policy monitoring and market intelligence gathering to analyse regulatory developments, geopolitical shifts, and industry trends, providing timely insights to inform business strategy and support Singapore companies' overseas expansion.
- Contribute to the development of sector strategies and reports to guide Singapore’s internationalisation efforts.
