Join a leading organisation at the forefront of laser technology and help shape the next generation of fiber laser systems for industrial and scientific applications. As a Laser Development Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in the design, assembly, testing, and optimisation of continuous-wave (CW) fiber lasers.
This position is ideal for individuals with a Ph.D. in Physics who have experience with lasers, or physicists with strong experimental laboratory experience. You will take ownership of the full testing workflow, from fiber splicing and laser assembly to data analysis, working directly with optical components and high-power laser systems.
You will bring a strong background in physics, optics, or photonics, and a practical, inquisitive approach. Experience with fiber lasers, optical setups, or laser testing environments is highly valued, as is familiarity with lab instruments such as power meters and thermal cameras. You will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and motivated to translate advanced physics into working technology.
This role offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art high-power fiber laser systems, collaborate with a team of experts across physics, optics, and engineering, and contribute to the next generation of fiber laser innovation. Strong technical and professional development support is provided.
This role requires:
- A PhD or Master's degree in Physics or a closely related discipline
- Hands-on experience with optical systems, lasers, or laboratory experimentation
- Strong understanding of fiber lasers/similar and laser testing methods (experience with high-power lasers is a plus)
- Practical skills with lab instruments such as power meters and thermal cameras
- A detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and proactive approach to experimental work
