A company with ambitious growth plans, set to double revenue, is looking for an FPGA Engineer to join its team. With a strong, supportive culture, employees stay long term and thrive in a collaborative environment. As a small but growing business, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while working on cutting-edge technology.
As an FPGA Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping product development by providing direct input into specifications from a hardware and FPGA perspective. Responsibilities include writing low-level specifications for system, algorithm, and architecture design, as well as taking ownership of FPGA design tasks for new product developments. The work is focused on high-speed data throughput and low-latency routing rather than heavy image processing. You will be working on end-to-end data flow, handling data from very high-speed interfaces and moving it efficiently across systems. Current projects include a major platform evolution, increasing bandwidths from ~40Gb to 200Gb+, alongside redesigning key architectures and interfaces.
We are seeking FPGA engineers who have an electronic engineering degree and a proven record of design in high-speed digital / FPGA systems. Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of design blocks and contributing to system-level thinking, rather than working purely on small isolated components.
FPGA Engineer essential requirements:
- FPGA design using VHDL/SystemVerilog
- Familiarity with high-speed interfaces in FPGAs
- Experience with high data throughput and/or low-latency systems
- Advanced simulation methods
FPGA Engineer desirable requirements:
- PCI Express, Ethernet, CoaXPress, MIPI, QSFP and DDR4/5
- High-speed transceivers
- JTAG-based test (XJTAG ideal)
- C/C++, Python/TCL/Shell
- CI/CD, Agile
