If you enjoy hands‑on engineering and want to help take a complex hardware product through final‑stage development into beta testing and early manufacture, this could be a great fit.
You’d be joining a small, multidisciplinary team working on a next‑generation environmental sensing system. The work is varied: designing precision mechanical and opto‑mechanical parts, building and testing prototypes, and helping improve reliability and manufacturability as the product moves towards small‑scale production.
Day to day, you’ll be designing assemblies and fixtures in CAD, building and testing prototypes in the lab, and working closely with colleagues across optics, microfluidics and electronics to diagnose issues and refine the overall system.
What we’re looking for (essential):
- Around 3+ years’ experience in hardware or product development
- A strong mechanical design background, ideally on real‑world products
- Hands‑on experience with opto‑mechanical systems (e.g. optical assemblies, alignment, fixtures)
- Confident using 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks) and building prototypes (e.g. 3D printing, machining)
It would be a bonus if you’ve worked in a start‑up or small team environment, have some exposure to design for manufacture, or are comfortable collaborating with electronics or firmware engineers, but these are not essential.
