We are seeking a Design Draughtsman with experience in sheet metal and cabinet/enclosure design to join a busy engineering team. This role is centred on producing detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD for bespoke, high-tech products. Working from client-approved drawings, you will develop them into flat patterns and internal layouts that can be issued directly to suppliers and used by the shopfloor for assembly. Every project is custom-built, offering variety and the chance to see your work brought to life in production. This company designs and manufactures cutting-edge technology in-house, allowing you to see the direct impact of your work from design through to production. The ideal candidate will have a background in sheet metal design, strong AutoCAD 2D skills, and an understanding of how cabinets and enclosures are manufactured. Attention to detail is essential, as each product is tailored with different layouts and specifications. While the role focuses on 2D design, there will also be opportunities to develop 3D design skills as the team evolves.
