Role Overview
You’ll be hands-on in the machine shop, manufacturing prototype and low-volume production parts, using a range of materials and machines. This is a varied role where you’ll program, set and run CNC mills and lathes, contribute to problem-solving and prototyping, and uphold the highest quality standards. Your work in the machine shop will be critical to the success of the wider production team.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and machine precision parts
- Program, set, and operate CNC mills (3 & 4 axis) and lathes
- Work with Mazak, Mazatrol, Hurco machinery and Winmax programming
- Inspect work using precision measuring equipment and maintain ISO 9001 standards
- Collaborate on design improvements and continuous process enhancements
What We’re Looking For
- Apprentice-trained machinist or minimum 5 years’ experience in a precision workshop environment
- Skilled in manual machining (mills and lathes) and CNC programming
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
- A proactive, detail-oriented individual, eager to learn and grow within the business
Location: Tring, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £35k-£45k
Working Hours: Mon-Fri (8-5) – half day Friday and 9/10 policy
