Hours

42.5 per week Monday – Friday. During our events season you may be required to work weekends with some UK travel. Overtime Opportunities.

What Division will I be working in?

Enterprise Flex-E-Rent is our commercial vehicle rental division, providing services tailored to the needs of commercial vehicle hire customers from locations across the UK and Ireland. Our Events Team is a dedicated specialist division, hiring a fleet of over 1000 golf buggies and ATVs to major UK events, operating out of 3 locations covering the UK using our own fleet of transporters.

Responsibilities

As a Trainee Fleet Technician within our specialist team, you will be an integral part of our day-to-day operations ensuring our large fleet of Golf Buggies and ATVs meet our high standards for hire. Your day-to-day role would involve being part of our productive workshop team maintaining and repairing our fleet and preparing and inspecting them for long- and short-term hire. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults or replacing damaged parts may play a part in your day. Our technicians also attend customer sites in the case of vehicle faults, in our fully fitted out service vans. In our Summer season, you may have the opportunity to work on site at some major UK events as part of an on-site team, which may involve overnight stays and weekend work with a paid overtime allowance/on-call bonus. You will be expected to maintain vehicle service and maintenance records using our workshop system (training will be provided). You are expected to comply with depot specific health and safety rules, comply with all aspects of safety and legal legislation, and perform in line with company policy, delivering preventative and proactive maintenance in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be expected to maintain a clean and tidy working area, ensuring your equipment is safe and maintaining security measures that are in place to ensure theft prevention.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who can work as part of a team, with good communication and organisation skills. Customer service experience is an advantage due to the nature of our onsite work. You don’t need any specific golf buggy qualifications, but knowledge of plant/agricultural machinery or Groundscare machinery would be advantageous. You have no formal qualification but have time served mechanical experience; we are happy to review and take this into account. You are a qualified technician holding a LCV Level 2 or 3 certification in the motor or motorbike industry. Flexibility, punctuality, and reliability are essential. A positive Can Do attitude is required. A Full UK/Irish/EU Manual Driving Licence with 6 points or fewer on your driving licence (for insurance purposes) is necessary. Applicants must be aged 21 or above (for insurance purposes) and have the ability to pass a security check involving financial probity and basic criminality.
