We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer to play a pivotal role in bridging Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. The Opportunity
As Senior Production Engineer, you will become the technical focal point between Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality, helping to drive manufacturing excellence across a complex portfolio of electronic and RF-based products. A key focus of the role will be improving and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), strengthening manufacturing documentation, supporting engineering change activities, and implementing process improvements that enhance operational performance. This position offers significant visibility across the business and a genuine career path into Manufacturing Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, validation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and configuration control activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Own and maintain manufacturing data packs, assembly instructions and production documentation.
- Support product lifecycle management, including component obsolescence and alternative component approvals.
- Act as the key technical interface between Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality and Commercial teams.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support mechanical, electrical and electronic product updates.
- Mentor junior engineers and production personnel.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar technical manufacturing role.
- Strong experience managing BOMs, engineering changes and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
- Experience supporting production environments and driving process improvements.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and engineering data management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within defence, aerospace, telecommunications, electronics or other highly regulated industries.
- Understanding of RF principles and technologies.
- Experience with configuration management and product lifecycle activities.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
