We’re looking for an experienced Director of Communications & Campaigns who is as comfortable setting strategy as rolling up their sleeves to get things done. In a fast-moving organisation like ours, the two go hand in hand. That means you are:

About the day‑to‑day
You will be responsible for overseeing our communications and policy advocacy campaigns, working closely with our Executive Director and our agency. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
- Strategy: Developing our overarching communications and campaigning strategy in collaboration with our Executive Director and our agency. Drafting tailored strategies for individual policy campaigns, research reports, and other initiatives.
- Planning: Overseeing our communications calendar and ensuring we are planning effectively for key moments. Developing and overseeing workplans for individual campaigns.
- Community building: Continuing to grow our community of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and investors across the country, and ensuring that they stay engaged and motivated to act.
- Content: Creating compelling content that drives engagement and action — including video, social media, op‑eds, major reports, and speeches. (Using support from freelancers, where required.)
- Rapid response: Being on constant alert for openings to drive our agenda based on the news cycle and developments in Westminster and Whitehall. Flagging opportunities and leading reactive communications.
- Management: Overseeing our engagement with agencies and freelancers, ensuring that they are briefed effectively and that expectations are clearly communicated. Providing direct line management for one junior employee at the outset and potentially others as our team grows.
- Media relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, and broadcasters across print, broadcast, and digital. Ensuring Enterprise Britain is consistently in the news and on the agenda.
- Stakeholder engagement: Working with our Advisory Board and broader network to identify spokespeople, surface insights, and build coalitions that advance our objectives.
