Job Title: Project Controls Specialist

Note: This position will be based out of Entergy\’s Nuclear Headquarters, at Echelon One, in Jackson, MS. Relocation for those outside the area will be required, with no relocation assistance available. *This position may be filled as a Project Controls Specialist II, III, or Senior based on the background and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Job Summary/Purpose:

Responsible for cost control, management of change, and other project support functions. Tasks include creation, maintenance, updating, and analysis of project man-hour/cost budgets versus actual and committed values, forecasting man-hours/costs at completion, management of change, cost forecasting, and reporting to the Project Team, Project Manager, and management.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Promote safe behavior and adherence to safety rules. Lead the project team to establish proactive safety indicators and ensure safety is integrated into all project aspects.
  2. Set up control systems to record, maintain, and report budgets, change orders, budget transfers, actual spend, estimates, and variances.
  3. Gather, consolidate, and report cost, change management, progress, and performance data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  4. Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports and presentations to management.
  5. Make timely decisions and take prompt action on project issues; communicate significant issues to leadership.
  6. Coordinate with all departments to meet project standards, budget, and timeline; ensure timely flow of project and contract information.
  7. Monitor contractor performance in safety, cost, quality, and compliance.
  8. Manage project costs, identify and mitigate risks to deliver projects with cost certainty.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: B.S. in Engineering, scientific discipline, accounting, or equivalent work experience. Preferred: B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

  • ProjectControls Specialist II: 2+ years in nuclear-related fields.
  • ProjectControls Specialist III: 4+ years.
  • Senior: 6+ years.
  • Desired: Experience in a nuclear power plant environment and 3 years of related work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical understanding of project management and nuclear operations.
  • Excellent communication, conflict, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and software including pivot tables, macros, and large data handling.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and communicate complex topics clearly.

Certificates, Licenses, etc.:

  • Desired: PMP or AACE certification, CPA certification.
