JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Entergy’s electronic physical security systems are a complex set of components that are critical to our compliance, safety, and security programs. Troubleshooting and maintenance of these systems requires an advanced level of understanding of physical security components combined with a high level of troubleshooting capabilities, persistence, excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The electronic physical security technician is responsible for operational lifecycle of Entergy’s physical security components located throughout our territory, starting with the oversight and quality control of system installation and the final operational configuration for commissioning of the product. The technician is then responsible for all remote/field maintenance and repair of all electronic physical security systems in their assigned region. This includes preventative maintenance tasks to keep systems operating efficiently, regular functional testing to verify operation and coordination with key stakeholders for moves, adds, changes and repairs of any physical security components. This requires close collaboration between remote support staff, field support staff, the physical security operations center, physical security engineers, project managers, access management groups and our internal Entergy business unit customers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required
Associate’s degree in industrial controls, computer systems, electronics or electrical engineering technologies or relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum experience required
7+ years’ experience in installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of physical security systems/components to include the following: Radar intrusion detection systems, Perimeter Sensors, Thermal cameras, PTZ cameras, Camera analytics, IP speakers, Encoders, Video management servers/Network video recorders, Reactive lighting, Strobes, Environmental sensors, Badge readers, Control panels, Power supplies, Sounders, Door contacts, Motion sensors, Maglocks, Electronic panic bars and strikes, Cypher locks, Electronic padlocks, Gate controllers, IP intercom systems, Vehicle sensors and access control, Understanding of network switch configuration, Point to point wireless systems, media converters, IP addressing, VLAN configuration, MS Windows networking configuration, MS Windows AD configuration, Various network cabling and infrastructure.

-Must have excellent work ethic, customer service skills, communication skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision at remote locations.
-Must pass compliance training provided by Entergy.
-Must be able to travel within the regionally assigned territory daily.
