We are seeking a dynamic and determined Field Technician to help deliver infrastructure and transformation projects with a focus on infills (insertion of cards into pre-existing telecoms equipment), and other telecoms-related initiatives as required. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day execution of data centre activities (including card infills and other telecoms related tasks) across multiple sites.
- Ensure project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved in line with agreed schedules with the Project Management Team.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for the secure removal, transport, or disposal of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with site access requirements, health & safety standards, and security protocols.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly, escalating risks where necessary.
- Promote a strong culture of accountability, safety, and quality.
- Support project reporting by providing accurate status updates, issue logs, and completion sign-offs.
- Travel as required to sites (a van will be provided).
- Reporting KPIs back to management on an agreed basis.
Skills and Required Qualifications:
- Qualification (e.g., HNC or HND) in a tech-related field such as engineering or IT.
- Strong project execution and timeline management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage directly with clients, management, PM team, and others who may be on site at the same time.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to validate technical deliverables.
- Must have good Microsoft Office experience, including Excel skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a tech-related field such as engineering or IT.
- Hands-on experience in a tech-related discipline.
- Exposure to live telecoms network operations.
