Business Development Manager – Public Sector (to cover the South of England)
Responsibilities
The Role Mission & Responsibilities:
- To secure profitable new business within the public sector channel (via the CCS Framework) by developing strong client relationships, delivering against sales targets, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
- The role will champion Entegra's value proposition, expand client portfolios through consultative engagement, and contribute to a high-performing sales function that positions the business as the partner of choice.
- Responsible for developing profitable new business for a specific channel, within agreed targets, from initial lead or enquiry through to onboarding (management for first 12 weeks from 'go live').
- To deliver personal new sales budgeted targets contributing to the sales team's business targets.
- Ensure the successful development of a robust and detailed pipeline specific to the public sector with particular attention paid to navigating government procurement frameworks, portals, and tender processes.
- To ensure development of the sales proposition, aligning to the needs of clients within the public sector.
- To represent the company at key networking events in line with the ENTEGRA IS Behaviours.
- To support the client service team in the sell to add additional categories to their portfolio.
- To accurately input data into Salesforce to represent an accurate picture of the company's sales pipeline and performance.
- To work alongside the 'bid team' to ensure that all Entegra bids are world class and deliver an improvement in conversion rate.
The Successful Candidate Profile
- The BDM for the Public Sector Channel will be commercially astute and able to demonstrate proven success in B2B sales, within the UK public sector.
- This role requires perseverance, confidence and a hunger for new business.
- You’ll need to be confident, consultative, and target-driven, and demonstrate a natural flair for building senior stakeholder relationships and securing sustainable new business.
- Experience of working within food and non-food (albeit food service/hospitality led) categories in a business development role (minimum of one of those categories).
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of commercial levers and can demonstrate delivery against revenue targets.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally with experience in public sector contracts.
- Strong knowledge of UK procurement regulations and tendering processes (e.g., CCS frameworks, Find a Tender portal).
- Experience working within a GPO, procurement, or solutions-based sales environment.
- Established public sector network across NHS, central government, education, or local authorities.
