The predicted salary is between 38.5 - 38.5 £ per hour.
Industrial Controls Engineer (Electronics) required for a 12 months contract working fully onsite in Peterlee. This is a contract role Inside IR35 with an Umbrella pay rate of up to £38.50 per hour (or £28.00 per hour PAYE), depending upon experience and qualifications.
This person will be supporting Industrial Controls Systems used on manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced factory environment, ensuring Production Equipment performs correctly through software support, diagnostics, machine tuning, and validation activities.
Requirements
- Experience in Industrial Control Systems and Automation
- Knowledge of embedded control systems
- Demonstrated capability in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
- Understanding of J1939 CAN/Ethernet communications, sensors, actuators, and real-time systems
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
- Will have experience within either Automotive or similar manufacturing facility (aerospace or rail vehicle)
- Ideally from a Test & Validation background, with previous experience of Test & Validation or Test & Development work
Responsibilities
- Deliver controls and software support for manufacturing operations
- Diagnose and resolve equipment control system issues to minimise downtime
- Support commissioning, testing, and tuning of production machinery
- Develop a clear understanding of production procedures, analyse them, and drive continuous improvement
- Execute software updates, fault finding, and system optimisation
- Support validation and performance verification activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of changes, testing, and issue resolution
