Buyer Operational Buyer required for an ongoing contract at an engineering manufacturing company in Clevedon. This is a hybrid role with 3 days working onsite and 2 days per week working from home. Pay rate is £16.50 per hour to £18.00 per hour (PAYE).
Responsible for:
- Ensuring continued supplier performance (on time delivery, cost and quality).
- Raising purchase orders.
- Reacting to MRP system messages to expedite, defer or cancel open order lines.
- Issuing RFQs, drawing releases, analysing quotes and setting up new part replenishment profile.
- Resolving issues relating to accuracy of deliveries, quality rejects, invoice queries, overdue orders and production shortages.
- Identifying savings opportunities through benchmarking, value engineering & optimising replenishment methods.
- Working with Engineering to manage obsolete and replacement parts.
- Raising temporary permits (concessions) and engineering changes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Procurement / Purchasing.
- Experience with sourcing side of New Product Introduction, Outsourcing and Continuous Improvement Projects.
- CIPS level 4 or equivalent qualification or equivalent through experience.
