CNC Programmer to programme complex parts across 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines, working closely with production and quality teams to deliver right-first-time manufacturing on tight tolerances and demanding timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Program, optimise and validate CNC programs across 3, 4 and 5-axis machines
- Develop machining strategies for complex, tight-tolerance components
- Select tooling and cutting strategies across a range of materials
- Produce setup sheets, tooling lists and full machining documentation
- Simulate and verify programs to eliminate collisions and reduce cycle times
- Support prove-outs, first-offs and production runs on the shop floor
- Troubleshoot machining issues to minimise downtime
- Work closely with production, quality and engineering teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer in precision engineering
- Strong experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining (multi-axis essential)
- Experience machining aluminium, copper, stainless steel and exotic alloys
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, PowerMill, HyperMill, NX or similar)
- Strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters and machining principles
- Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T
