Based in Peterlee, Co. Durham. Some hybrid work available (minimum 3 days onsite per week).
This is a great opportunity to work for a very ambitious well-known UK manufacturer and service organisation that has a global footprint. They are looking for a very analytical Imports Coordinator who has experience within freight, shipping, and UK import regulations. If you have worked within an organisation that imports high-value products, this would be a great fit.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing imports and logistics in accordance with the business unit inventory policy and initiatives and with UK principles and requirements.
- Preparing documentation for products, parts, and materials for shipment and routes following customer instructions.
- Handling all shipping, customs, and import documentation for high-value products within project deadlines.
- Participating in regular import compliance audits, including HMRC declarations.
- Clearing imports of purchased parts in a timely manner and other items in accordance with import procedures.
- Compiling reports to ensure all processes are streamlined and efficient.
- Liaising with suppliers, shipping, and project managers on timescales for installation.
Requirements:
- Experience of ERP systems and import/export software or customs reporting systems (Oracle R12 would be ideal; however, experience of any ERP such as SAP would suffice).
- Good skills using Excel and data administration.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to inspect and verify data.
- Must be IT literate and have a good understanding of Excel.
The company is going through a very exciting expansion, consequently why this role will be key to their success next year and beyond. The role is expected to be initially for 12 months; however, it is expected to extend beyond this and likely to turn into a long-term, secure contract role. The client is looking to engage with people who have good experience with logistics and shipping coordination and wish to be competitively remunerated.
This role is deemed inside IR35. Hourly rate: £21.50 FCSA umbrella rate (this role is deemed inside IR35), £16.00 PAYE.
