A Network Automation Engineer role at the heart of a fast-growing colocation and low latency trading platform. You'll turn a high-availability network into code, building the automation, tooling and telemetry that let a world-class engineering team move faster.

About Our Client

A leading quantitative research and trading firm based in London, where researchers and engineers work side by side on some of the hardest problems in financial markets. The firm invests heavily in its technology platform and in engineering talent. Its colocation and low latency infrastructure is in a period of significant growth, and it is hiring to bring network provisioning and lifecycle management fully into code.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Network Automation Engineer:

  • Designing and growing the automation that provisions and manages network infrastructure across colocation sites.
  • Writing infrastructure as code in Python, Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2.
  • Taking network change through CI/CD, with testing, peer review and safe, repeatable rollout.
  • Building APIs and self-service tools so other engineering teams can consume the network on demand.
  • Driving observability and telemetry to keep a low latency estate fast and resilient.
  • Sharing incident response and on-call for the most critical infrastructure, alongside network, platform and security colleagues.

What We’re Looking For From The Network Automation Engineer:

  • Strong network engineering fundamentals, with hands-on experience of high-performance, resilient networks.
  • Confident Python, backed by good engineering habits: testing, version control and CI/CD.
  • Practical infrastructure as code and network automation experience, ideally with Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, plus exposure to monitoring or telemetry in distributed systems.
  • Comfortable using AI coding tools to speed up delivery.
  • An ownership mindset, at ease with ambiguity in a fast-moving, collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Experience of low latency or colocation networks in financial markets is a strong plus.
  • Practical experience counts for more than formal qualifications.

Why Join?

  • Shape automation for a colocation platform that is actively growing, not maintaining a static estate.
  • Work alongside world-class researchers and engineers in a firm that rewards rigour and careful engineering.
  • Strong base salary and discretionary bonus, with generous pension, leave and private healthcare.
  • Modern tooling, including AI-assisted engineering, and real influence over how the network is run.
