A high-impact contract on a large-scale public sector technology programme. As Deputy Service Design & Transition Lead, you will help shape the service architecture for complex systems and support the safe transition of technology services into live operations, deputising for the Service Design & Transition Lead.

About the role

Our client is a UK public sector organisation delivering a complex, large-scale technology transformation, with multiple suppliers and high assurance standards. The service design and transition function is being strengthened as the programme moves towards live service.

What you'll be doing as a Deputy Service Design & Transition Lead:

  • Deputising for the Service Design & Transition Lead across day-to-day delivery and decisions
  • Designing service architectures for complex systems within a large-scale IT and digital transformation programme
  • Supporting the safe transition of technology services into live operations
  • Managing supplier relationships and feeding a service perspective into commercial and contractual discussions
  • Ensuring support services align with, and positively impact, wider business functions
  • Driving service readiness, governance and assurance across the programme

What we're looking for:

  • Public sector delivery experience (essential)
  • Proven experience designing service architectures for complex systems in large transformation programmes
  • A track record of transitioning large-scale technology services into live operations
  • Strong supplier and commercial management skills, including input to contractual discussions
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Broad IT knowledge and a clear understanding of how support services affect other business functions

Qualifications:

  • ITIL (Service Design / Service Transition) or equivalent service management background
  • Active SC clearance is essential as a minimum; NPPV clearance is ideal
