Job Description
As a Deputy Racing Manager you will be responsible for creating a fun and competitive race meeting.
Reporting to the Racing Manager you will be part of the Racing Office, who will be assisting the Racing Manager to maintain the integrity of greyhound racing at all times whilst supporting the Company in its objectives by the delivery of the required betting margin and to help deliver the best possible greyhound racing for on-course and off-course markets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Racing Manager to deliver competitive racing and meet betting margin targets.
- Assist in organising graded and open races according to the racing schedule.
- Implement and enforce GBGB and local racing rules.
- Analyze data on greyhounds, trainer performance, and race results.
- Manage the secure kenneling and identification of greyhounds on race days.
- Ensure a qualified Vet is present at race meetings and trial sessions.
- Act as a GBGB licensed Steward during race meetings.
- Supervise and record trial sessions.
- Ensure all equipment and areas are safe, reporting issues to the Racing Manager.
- Deputize for the Racing Manager as needed.
Qualifications
- Do you have knowledge and understanding of greyhound racing and stakeholders interest within the greyhound industry?
- Have you got a proven record of grading greyhounds and solid understanding of the GBGB Rules of Racing?
- Do you have experience in training, communication, and stakeholder management?
