Job Description
The Head of FP&A is a key member of the Group FP&A team, responsible to define processes, timetables and templates to produce Group annual budgets in collaboration with the regional finance teams, perform financial analysis for P&L down to EBIT, ensure commercial cost control (CoS, OpEx and CapEx), track risks and opportunities and deliver high quality outputs to senior leaders, including ExCo and Board.
Key responsibilities
- Commercial FP&A Leadership & Governance: provide end-to-end oversight of Commercial FP&A processes, including ownership of detailed planning and forecasting timetables, development of standardised regional templates, and coordination of regional FDs review cycles to ensure consistency, rigour, and timely delivery.
- Planning Cycles & Executive Inputs: own and continuously update the commercial components of Budget, Reforecast, and Long-Range Plan deliverables, ensuring clear visualisation, robust assumptions, and insightful, decision-focused commentary for senior leadership.
- Commercial Cost Control & Value Creation: lead commercial cost control across group by establishing and operationalising driver-based models for key variable costs, strengthening insight, challenge, and governance over commercial spend and investment decisions (CoS, OpEx and CapEx), supporting Group-wide efficiency initiatives, including sizing opportunities, embedding savings into plans, and tracking delivery against targets.
- Performance & Drivers Insight: deliver high-quality monthly and quarterly analysis of commercial P&L drivers, providing clear insight into performance, risks, and opportunities for the CFO and senior stakeholders.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: maintain and own the Commercial Risks & Opportunities tracker, ensuring robust governance, accurate sizing, and integration into forecasts and performance narratives, while supporting alignment with wider Group R&O processes.
- Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement: produce concise, high-impact reporting and presentation materials for Executive Committee, CFO, and Board discussions, translating complex financial data into clear strategic insight.
- Capability Building & Team Development: actively contribute to the upskilling of the wider FP&A and Commercial Finance community, sharing best practice, strengthening analytical capability, and embedding higher standards of insight, modelling, and business partnering.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
- Strong Commercial Finance experience, with exposure to senior leadership.
- Proven experience in FP&A leadership roles within large, complex organisations.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Evidence of leading commercial initiatives, start to finish.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
Desired
- Experience in gambling, gaming, or related industries.
- Exposure to marketing spend management and commercial finance.
- Knowledge of FP&A tools (Anaplan experience highly desirable).
- Familiarity with BI tools and financial systems.
