The predicted salary is between 59400 - 72600 £ per year.

The Tax Manager will report to the EU Head of Tax and be responsible for managing the reporting and direct tax compliance for the UK, European and APAC region, as well as providing ad-hoc tax support to the business.

The Tax Manager will also be responsible for managing the group’s Pillar II and transfer pricing obligations.

What you will be doing

  • Tax Reporting
  • Managing the quarterly and annual reporting process for the International region (US GAAP reporting).
  • Ensuring that tax provisions and prior year adjustments are booked accurately and on time.
  • Take ownership of the reconciliation of the balance sheets corporate tax accounts including reconciliation of deferred tax assets & liabilities and calculation of valuation allowances.
  • Preparation of notes to include in the group accounts.
  • Managing tax cash forecast.
  • Preparation of the quarterly Glo BE top-up tax calculation.
  • Preparation of the quarterly UTP, Valuation Allowance and annual Pillar II memos.
  • Managing the quarterly/year end support files for the external auditor.
  • Input into the preparation of quarterly Board presentations.
  • Manage the Pillar II obligations for the group.
  • Working with the wider tax function, the business and external advisors to ensure all required Pillar II compliance obligations are met.
  • Corporate Tax Compliance
  • The corporate tax compliance encompasses the Enstar legacy run-off businesses, as well as the syndicate business (corporate names, managing agent and syndicate).

Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to

  • Managing the compliance process ensuring that all the UK, European and APAC corporate tax returns are submitted on time (circa 20 per annum).
  • Ensure that the European tax compliance is prepared, reviewed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all corporate tax payments are made on time.
  • Liaise with HMRC, to resolve queries and maintain a good working relationship.
  • Liaise with overseas advisors as and when required.
  • Finance Data Transformation
  • Support with tax aspects of groupwide implementation of new general ledger system.
  • Ensure all tax processes and controls remain robust post implementation of the new general ledger.
  • Manage the transfer pricing requirements for the group, including;
  • Master and local files
  • Ensuring the business understand and adhere to the policy
  • Ad-hoc Business Support
  • Manage tax audits in the region with the support of internal resources and/or external advisors.
  • Liaise with external advisors where required.
  • Monitor legislative changes which may impact Enstar.

What you will bring

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • CTA qualified (or qualified by experience).
  • Proven experience of US GAAP.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP and UK statutory reporting requirements.
  • Very good technical knowledge of UK Corporation Tax and a good understanding/awareness of international tax issues.
  • Strong communication skills – comfortable liaising with colleagues and business stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experience of One Source reporting tool.
  • Experience of Alpha Tax software.
  • Previous experience in a similar Tax / role in Industry including the Lloyd’s insurance market.
  • European Tax compliance experience.
  • Ability to support/train junior colleagues.
  • Willingness to be “hands-on” with work tasks whilst working closely with the team.
  • Strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to prioritise workload with strong organisational skills.
