Responsibilities

  • Provide tax advisory support to the business on various open projects.
  • Project manage tax aspects of ongoing cross-border internal restructuring.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder requests to ensure relevant deadlines are met.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual reporting process for the International region (US GAAP reporting).
  • Ensure US GAAP tax accuracy and compliance with US GAAP accounting standards for International Region.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are executed and documented for International Region.
  • Oversee the UK & European direct tax compliance requirements, ensuring that all UK, European and APAC corporate tax returns are submitted on time.
  • Ensure all corporate tax payments are made on time.
  • Liaise with tax authorities to resolve queries and maintain a good working relationship.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure all group intercompany transactions are correctly identified, benchmarked and documented.
  • Support the wider Tax function in the preparation and submission of the Country-by-Country reporting requirements.
  • Provide transfer pricing support in the context of potential tax audits.
  • Ensure adherence to Group Tax Policies and Group Tax Risk Policy.
  • Ensure SAO process and documentation are robust.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience.
  • Qualified accountant or Tax Advisor (CTA, ACA, ACCA, or qualified by experience).
  • Insurance industry experience (including Lloyd’s syndicate) is a significant plus.
  • Excellent tax technical knowledge.
  • Proven experience with US GAAP, UK GAAP and UK statutory reporting requirements.
  • Very good technical knowledge of UK Corporation Tax and a good understanding of international tax issues.
  • Experience of OneSource reporting tool & Alpha Tax software.
  • Previous experience in a similar Tax role in Industry, including the Lloyd’s insurance market.
  • Strong communication skills – comfortable liaising with colleagues and business stakeholders of all levels.
  • Comfortable working closely with external advisors to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and have strong organisational skills.
  • Willingness to be “hands-on” with work tasks while working closely with the team.
