What you will be doing

  • Assist with full actuarial reserve reviews of assigned portfolios across Enstar’s UK and International Companies including preparation of data, performing initial reserve analyses and highlighting key messages and observations from the review
  • Assist with quarterly reserve reviews including actual v expected comparisons and deep dive or detailed analyses when required
  • Assist with various quarterly reports, memos and presentations by preparing exhibits and updating relevant sections
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects such as process/model enhancements or other team/business projects
  • Assist with calculation of Solvency II Technical Provisions data
  • Make good progress towards actuarial qualification
  • In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require

  • Degree educated or equivalent preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and VBA
  • Some knowledge of SQL and R preferred
  • Background understanding of insurance & finance
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments
  • Highly motivated individual who can work long hours when needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to start an analysis at a granular level and develop the big picture
  • Excellent communication skills in order to work closely with various departments including Finance, Claims, Capital Modelling, IT.
