Looking to start a challenging and rewarding career in accountancy at one of the region's most prestigious and highly regarded practices? We now have an additional opportunity in our Corporate Services (Audit) team for an AAT or ICAEW/ACCA entry level trainee to join our trainee programme which commences in September 2025.
By joining us as a Trainee Accountant you will be able to study for professional qualifications whilst also gaining vital hands-on, task-focussed work experience in our busy, growing, multi-disciplinary practice. As an AAT trainee you will follow formal training through an apprenticeship framework for the AAT qualification. We would expect applicants to be non-graduates and require you to have (or be predicted to achieve) either:
- a minimum of 2 A levels at Grade C or above (including Maths) OR
- the equivalent standard in vocational qualifications.
If the qualification type varies from this, the application will be assessed on an individual basis. If you do not hold a Maths A level, then we expect a minimum attainment of Grade 6 / Grade B in GCSE Maths. Once AAT qualified you may go on to study for chartered qualifications.
As an applicant for the ICAEW (also known as ACA) or ACCA trainee programme we would expect you to be a graduate with a predicted or attained minimum 2:1 degree.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work well in a team environment. You should be self-motivated, hard-working, flexible and prepared to undertake some travel. Ambition, drive, resilience, enthusiasm, and a keen interest in learning and professional development are also important. Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail are required.
We have a fantastic study support package to offer. The firm will pay all tuition and Institute fees and you will also be entitled to paid time off for your studies, along with mentoring support.
Our client portfolio includes business clients across the spectrum from the very small to groups turning over several hundreds of million pounds including OMBs, subsidiaries of larger international groups, charities, pension schemes and LLPs. Therefore, we can offer you a stimulating and varied portfolio of work, coupled with the possibility of rotation across a number of our departments during your training period.
