About the role and what you'll be doing: As a Lead Consultant at Ensono, you will be playing a leadership role and will be spending most of your time leading an agile delivery team across all aspects of the data and analytics lifecycle on an exciting project and helping that client to realise the business benefit of an investment into the cloud. Our Technical Leads are hands-on; you will also be responsible for identifying the appropriate technologies to use for your project, designing and architecting scalable data platforms and solutions using cloud-based services for your client and influencing the success of the project.
You will work closely with senior technical people from the client, navigating through complex stakeholder relationships, and guiding architectural and technical decisions across data engineering solutions such as data lakes, large-scale ingestion pipelines and distributed processing platforms, as well as enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions that help clients unlock more value from their data. You will also support teams in designing data platforms that enable machine learning, AI and intelligent data products, ensuring the right data architecture and governance is in place to support these capabilities.
Required Experience: You will be leading across all aspects of the data engineering lifecycle on large, complex and scalable data platforms. Such as, you’ll need to bring your skills and experience:
- Engineering Big Data patterns and solving complex data challenges
- Designing and architecting scalable data platforms including data lakes and ingestion pipelines
- Engineering and modelling best practices for both RDMS and NoSQL databases
- Designing distributed data processing solutions using technologies such as Apache Spark (particularly DataBricks), Google BigQuery or similar platforms
- Designing solutions using the most appropriate cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.) and cloud-native data patterns
- Implementing large-scale data ingestion pipelines including batch, micro-batch and streaming processing approaches
- Designing data platforms that support advanced analytics, machine learning and AI-driven solutions
- Confidently taking on challenges and being responsible for outcomes
- Creating a collaborative team environment where everyone’s opinion is heard, but you know when to be assertive, back down or escalate
- Great communication skills, in particular: presenting, collaborating and partnering with stakeholders
- Understanding the way projects affect your client’s success and adds value to their business
