As Management Accountant, you'll take ownership of the company's financial operations, reporting, and planning. You'll be a key advisor to senior management, ensuring financial health, compliance, and efficiency while identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of SME finance, ideally within the IT or service sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting & forecasting
- Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
- Produce accurate financial reports and interpret financial data to support strategic decisions
- Develop and manage budgeting processes, forecasts, and financial planning
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors
- Monitor key financial KPIs and implement cost control measures
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring healthy working capital management
- Oversee the Financial Planning Analysis and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce cost
- Contribute to business strategy, providing financial insight to drive growth and profitability
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems (experience with financial software like Sage, Xero, or similar desirable)
- Support contract pricing and commercial negotiations with clients/vendors
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- 4+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a similar-sized SME
- Experience working in or with the IT sector or service-based industries preferred
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
