This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled team developing innovative AI solutions for clients across a range of sectors, alongside contributing to the development of new AI-powered products.
We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in Python and Data Science who enjoys translating complex data into real, working AI solutions. You will have the opportunity to work across machine learning, Generative AI and software engineering, taking ideas from initial exploration through to real-world applications. Whether your background is in data science and you’re keen to sharpen your engineering skills, or you’ve come from a software engineering background and moved into AI, there’s room to grow in either direction.
The Role
Working within a small, experienced team, you will have considerable autonomy and the opportunity to contribute directly to client projects and new product development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Exploring, cleaning and analysing complex datasets to identify opportunities and develop solutions
- Developing and assessing machine learning models from initial design through to evaluation
- Building Generative AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Writing clean, reusable Python code and contributing to the software engineering required to deliver AI solutions
- Working with APIs, databases and cloud technologies to support AI application development
- Collaborating directly with clients to understand challenges, communicate findings and deliver meaningful outcomes
- Contributing to the development of new AI products and emerging technologies
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Python programming skills, particularly within the PyData ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn or similar)
- Practical experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, including data preparation, model development and evaluation
- Hands-on experience developing Generative AI solutions, including LLMs, prompt engineering and RAG
- Good SQL skills and an understanding of working with different data sources
- Sound software engineering fundamentals, including Git, modular code and testing
- Experience developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, alongside Docker
- An interest in modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot
- Experience deploying machine learning models or data pipelines into production would be advantageous, although not essential.
Beyond the technical skills, we are looking for someone genuinely curious, self-motivated, and energised by complex challenges. You will enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Benefits
- Salary: up to £47.5k, depending on experience
- Project-based discretionary bonus linked to successful delivery
- Fully remote working (with occasional client visits and team collaboration sessions)
- Rapid career development within a fast growing business
- Opportunity to work alongside experienced AI specialists and accelerate your technical development
- Exposure to innovative AI projects with real-world applications
- The chance to make a meaningful contribution within a growing technology business
