Business Analyst - IT Projects in Belfast

Enso Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading technology company in Belfast, to recruit for the role of Business Analyst.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in connecting clients, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of impactful, high‑quality solutions.

This position involves gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements, supporting the design and rollout of cloud‑based applications, and ensuring each solution aligns with client expectations. You will work closely with clients and internal project teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role

• Gather, analyse, and document detailed business and functional requirements from clients and stakeholders.
• Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to understand business processes and define needs.
• Translate business objectives into clear, actionable requirements for technical delivery teams.
• Support the development and implementation of new and existing software solutions.
• Create and maintain business analysis artefacts, including process documentation, user stories, and workflow maps.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and wider teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered.
• Contribute to defining acceptance criteria and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Identify requirements‑related risks or issues and propose mitigating strategies.
• Maintain strong communication channels between clients and internal teams.
• Support ongoing improvements within the business analysis function.
• Participate in project reviews, including post‑implementation and lessons‑learned activities.

The Person

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working as a Business Analyst within IT or technology‑focused environments.
• Demonstrable experience delivering business analysis for complex IT projects, ideally across both public and private sectors.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience producing high‑quality requirements and business process documentation.
• Ability to identify, assess, and resolve requirements‑related risks and issues.
• Experience working within agile and/or waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Business analysis certification (e.g., IIBA, BCS, or equivalent).
• Experience working on enterprise‑level software implementations.
• Understanding of government or regulated environments.
