Senior Experience Designer (12-month FTC)
Join to apply for the Senior Experience Designer (12-month FTC) role at Ensera Design. Ensera Design is a world‑class user‑centred innovation and product development consultancy, specialising in the medical and consumer health sectors. As part of the Ensera group, we collaborate globally with contract manufacturing facilities in Europe, the USA and Asia, alongside additional design and product development teams in New Jersey and Colorado.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Experience Designer on a fixed‑term basis (12 months) to cover maternity leave. You’ll be responsible for the design of the digital aspects of connected products and service ecosystems, and the applications and device interfaces that are part of these. Working closely alongside our wider Design and Research & Strategy teams you’ll report into the Head of Experience Design.
About You
You’ll have experience working with qualitative design research and quantitative data to frame and identify problems and opportunities. You will be experienced in the creation and application of design systems, journey maps and user problem statements to bring your strategic ideas to life through visuals, storytelling and prototypes. You’ll be comfortable presenting your ideas to a variety of stakeholders and create clear journey maps and service blueprints to demonstrate areas of need and opportunity. You’ll be talented, driven and ambitious with the confidence to engage with complex design problems, deliver top‑quality work and collaborate with our multi‑disciplinary team.
Skills and Experience
- At least 7 years of previous professional experience and undergraduate degree level or equivalent training.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating strong skills in graphic design and prototyping related to the web, native apps and other equivalent digital experiences.
- Experience in presenting design concepts, prototypes, maps and final designs.
- Workshop participation, planning and facilitation.
- Good time management and willingness to lead estimation of design time.
- A pragmatic approach to design tasks and constraints.
- An understanding of software development and coding related to the web and native mobile apps. The ability to code is not required.
- Observation of research and testing related to UCD.
- Practical knowledge of how to measure digital experiences.
- Excellent presentation and listening skills.
- Formal training in a creative discipline, Engineering or Psychology is desirable but not required.
- Willingness to champion digital, and be a voice for innovation and trends that impact our practice and our clients.
Salary
Salary band: £50,000 – £71,800. Please indicate your desired salary as part of your application.
