Join Ensera Design for Your Industrial Placement Year
Every year at Ensera Design, we select a number of talented students to join our team through placement opportunities. Many of our former interns have gone on to build successful careers, and several are now valued members of the Ensera team.
We’re looking for an Electronic and Software (E&S) Placement Intern to join us for a year-long placement starting in September 2027. You’ll work alongside our multidisciplinary Electronics and Software team on a variety of exciting client projects, applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges and developing your skills within an award-winning design consultancy.
About the role
Ensera Design is a world-class user-centred innovation and product development consultancy, specializing in the medical and consumer health sectors. As part of Ensera, we collaborate globally with contract manufacturing facilities in Europe, the USA, and Asia, alongside additional design and product development teams in New Jersey and Colorado.
As an E&S Intern, you’ll become a valued member of the team and contribute to a variety of multidisciplinary projects throughout your placement.
You will:
- Support the delivery of high-quality engineering work for a range of clients.
- Apply engineering principles to real product development challenges.
- Contribute to concept generation, design development, prototyping and testing activities.
- Work alongside experienced engineers and specialists from other disciplines.
- Gain exposure to the full product development process, from concept through to manufacture.
You’re currently studying Computer Science, Electronics, Software or a similar degree and are looking to gain valuable industrial experience before completing your studies.
You’re enthusiastic, curious and eager to learn, with a desire to apply what you’ve learned at university to real-world engineering challenges.
We’re looking for students currently partway through your studies and have :
- Enthusiasm to deliver high-quality work on a range of projects.
- Willingness to work independently (often remotely) on a project or task, seeking advice or support as needed.
- Experience working to a brief and delivering work within specific timescales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
